Who We Are

Origins & History

DR Painting started with a simple idea—sharing a love for paint and transformation. Pavan had always encouraged me to start a painting business with her. She knew she wasn’t tech-savvy or familiar with running a business, but she had a deep passion for painting. At the time, I was a stay-at-home mom, unsure of what path I would take once my kids started school. So, we jumped in with both feet.

One of our most memorable early projects was repainting a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. The learning curve was steep—like the time Pavan sent me to pick up STIX primer, and I showed up with a handful of stir sticks instead. We still laugh about that today!

Why Painting?

Growing up, I was constantly rearranging our family home, driving my dad crazy every time he walked through the door. Now, I get to be a sounding board for homeowners as they turn their house into a home. Pavan, with her years of painting experience and background in makeup and film in Vancouver, pivoted to painting when she moved to Alberta, bringing her eye for color and detail into every project.

One defining moment for our business was realizing that it wasn’t just about putting paint on walls—it was about quality, timelines, communication, and relationships. Those first few clients who believed in us set the tone for how we would run our business: with care, precision, and trust.
